January 2008
MercyCare Health Plans Quality Utilization Management (QUM) Committee reviewed and approved guidelines for the treatment of Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder in primary care on January 8, 2008. March 2008
MercyCare Health Plans has sent Annual Provider notices to network practitioners. These notices contain important information on our quality improvement programs, pharmacy information, utilization management, member information, and case management programs. The annual notices and the accompanying letter, are located under the Quality Improvement section and the Utilization Managment section.
July 2008
On April 17, 2008 MercyCare Health Plans held its sixth annual Behavioral Health Advisory Committee (BHAC). The BHAC is a committee comprised of network behavioral health practitioners, primary care physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, and a physician assistant. The main goal of this committee is to improve continuity and coordination of care between medical and behavioral health care by collaboratively analyzing collected data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
