Notice to employers located in Illinois regarding consumers covered under MercyCare health insurance plan.

In response to the flooding disasters, the State of Illinois Division of Insurance has issued a mandate for insurers in the state.  To comply with this order, we have implemented the following actions, effective immediately:

  •  Moratorium on cancellations and non-renewals for affected policyholders until August 18, 2008, or later if deemed reasonable given an individual consumer's circumstance. 

 

  • Time period extensions of at least 60 days for any provisions requiring submission or payment deadlines, for affected policyholders.

 

  • Exceptions to requirements, rating or underwriting rules, when these requirements or rules can not be met due to the flooding disaster.
